Ryota Naruhashi

Based in Kyoto,

the work is grounded in a lifestyle of locating abandoned traditional houses and restoring them for habitation, moving into each as part of an ongoing cycle of renewal.

 

In architecture, my primary focus is on how human beings perceive space, and how such perception brings about transformations in the structure of self-awareness.

How do consciousness and sensation arise, and from where do they emerge?

These questions are continually explored through the interplay of the passage of time, the designed spatial environment, and bodily behavior.

荒廃した古民家を見出し、自らの手で修復しながら移り住むという生活様式を継続しています。

 

建築において私が主題としているのは、 人間が空間をいかに知覚し、その知覚が自己意識の構造にどのような変容をもたらすのかという点です。 

意識や感覚はいかに生起し、どこから立ち上がるのか。 

こうした問いを、時間の作用、構成した空間との関わり、身体の振る舞いといった観点から日々探究を続けています。
